A photo journal and a poem emerged from my November 2024 residency with the Bush Retreat for Eco-Writers (BREW) at Blue Bucket, a conservation property on the western slopes of Danandbilla Range National Park near Boorowa, NSW. Thank Barbara Holloway for being a generous host.
After Mary Oliver
It is true what Mary said,
voices from nature
entered me too
the sky
the rain
the grass
being in the bush
I became holey,
porous
more alive,
more still,
hushed
to hear an outdoor wireless,
never off,
vibrating with news
and tunes
of birds
and insects
