Alone Together
These works exploring colonisation, isolation and exile were shown in a joint show called Alone Together with Kerry Martin at the ACT Legislative Assembly gallery.
Exile is as a mental and physical state in place and time. It conjures up ideas of displacement, deportation for political or punitive reasons and social isolation. I am interested in these themes; how we can feel utterly alone or misunderstood among people, and how historical and current global events are disrupting and disorientating communities everywhere.
